About
Matthew J Bennett
With over 25 years of experience as a clinical psychologist, I bring a
passion for my work, empathy, and excellence in clinical training, including several years at The University of Pennsylvania and The University of Illinois at Chicago, allows me to provide effective, lasting results.
I use an integrative approach, employing cognitive behavioral,
psychodynamic, and interpersonal therapies to help adolescents and
adults gain insight and work through varied life concerns.
I see symptoms such as depression, anxiety, and relationship conflict as
opportunities for change and personal growth. With research
background in psychotherapy treatment outcome, I place importance on
using therapy that works.

Past work within university counseling centers in Chicago and at Penn, private practices in Chicago, Seattle, and Cleveland, and a side focus on ADHD testing, allows me to competently work with a diverse clientele, including those with mood problems, addiction, grief/loss, relationships problems, and ADHD.
I am described as a good listener with a calm, warm and non-judgmental demeanor. My role is to collaborate with you in building the insight, confidence and hope necessary to accessing your inherent potential and life goals. I use an active approach, offering feedback and suggestions when appropriate.

Currently, I see patients virtually or in-person at Becker-Gibeau Psychological Services.
